A proper concrete base is essential for a perfect fit. Your base must be the correct size, square, and level.
New Base Dimensions
All shed sizes include a 60mm allowance, so your concrete base should match the stated shed size exactly.
Example: A 6m x 4m building needs a base of 6m 60mm by 4m 60mm.
Roller Door Tray
Buildings with a roller door need a recessed tray in the base — 25mm deep, 180mm from the front edge, aligned with the door opening.
Width: Add 4 inches (100mm) to each side of the roller door opening.
Existing Base Check
Already have a base? Measure length, width, and diagonals corner to corner both ways. It must be level and crack-free.
Note: Your shed won't be manufactured until photos confirm the base is correct.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Under-sizing the Base
A base that's too small causes walls to overhang, leading to water pooling and structural issues.
Not Level
An unlevel base makes assembly difficult and leads to twisted frames and ill-fitting doors.
Not Square
A base that isn't square causes wall panels to not meet correctly, resulting in gaps.
Poor Sub-Base Prep
Inadequate compaction or an unstable sub-base leads to cracks and settlement over time.
